ABOUT HANNAH-ROSE

Hannah-Rose (they/she) has played and studied flute in a variety of contexts and with a wide range of teachers. Her happiest place with the flute is improvising with other musicians.

She has been playing for 30 years (giving this information feels like a benchmarker of getting older!) and loves the melodic and airy quality of the flute, and its ability to add brightness and spirit to different musical textures.

Hannah-Rose has a patient and passionate teaching style, encouraging students to find their joy and motivation and stay connection to their reasons for playing, whilst also bringing clarity and precision to all the important elements of technique that set players up for healthy habits that serve them to play well for life, and to feel as comfortable as possible doing so.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include a 1st Class BA Hons in Music (and Dance), Trinity Grade 8 Flute with distinction, Grade 6 Flute ABRSM, and working up to a Trinity Flute Performance Diploma in 2025. Experience includes playing in a variety of theatre productions, amateur orchestras, folk groups, collaborations with other musicians, and as part of her BA in Music.
