About Hannah-Rose Tristram

Hannah-Rose (they/she) is passionate about empowering people to take part in and enjoy music, singing and their voices. She helps people make sounds they love and connect with others through music. They are committed to inclusive practice and base this on ongoing study and learning, community feedback, and their own lived experience.

Hannah-Rose is a community choir leader, singing teacher, gender affirming voice coach and trans voice alteration teacher. They are also a voice actor, song writer, musician, flute/accordion teacher, coach & mentor in their fields, and occasional LGBTQIA+ inclusion trainer. Hannah-Rose is also trained and experienced in yoga teaching, and has a 1st class BA in Music and Dance (Kingston University).

Hannah-Rose is a highly qualified trans voice coach and gender affirming voice coach, having trained to do this with Renée Yoxon after many years of formal and informal learning in this area. Hannah-Rose offers gender-affirming voice coaching online so it can be undertaken from any location.

Hannah-Rose leads choirs at which all voices are welcome, with the ethos that singing is a human birthright, something everyone can do. To support their practice, they are a member of both the Natural Voice network and SoundSense. See this blog post about their ethos that singing and music are human birthrights.

RECENT singing groups led by hannah-rose include:

LGBTQIA+ & Allies community choir, GLOW Choir Brighton (Facebook / Instagram), which Hannah-Rose co-founded and ran from 2015-2025 with a strong emphasis on inclusion for all voices under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, and queer joy! GLOW has closed its official choir activities in December 2025, but you can see a 10 year highlight video on the GLOW choir page. Hannah-Rose hopes that the queer community connections & ripples from the decade GLOW choir spent together will continue for a very long time to come. https://getbrightonsinging.com/glow-choir/

Resonance Choir, Sing For Trees! (Facebook / Instagram) was a singing project Hannah-Rose co-founded with the vision and support of artist Moyra Scott. All voices were welcome at these occasional sessions which supported tree planting organisation Forests Without Frontiers and sang songs to nourish the spirit from a range of singing traditions, old and new. Resonance ran monthly from Sept 2022 to Jan 2025, as well as occasional al fresco campfire sings in a beautiful woodland garden at Stanmer. Companion Voices Brighton – this group practices together to bring the comfort of song to those nearing the end of life. It is part of a wider network of Companion Voices groups under a CIC founded by Judith Silver. After four/five years of meaningful experience co-leading this group with Judith, Hannah-Rose stepped down from this in April 2025 in order to focus their energy on GLOW choir, trans voice alteration work, life balance, and other work and projects. However Companion Voices Brighton and other groups are still running in many locations, if this work calls to you, you can look them up.
